The studies collected here explore the role that AML/CFT preventive measures can play in protecting the legality and ensuring the integrity of the economic system.

The first essay analyzes the regulatory and institutional architecture of the new European anti-money laundering package, highlighting the challenges the reform has posed in this field: not only identifying national best practices and translating them into models applicable across the Union, but also adapting rules and practices to the specificities of each country.

The second paper, starting from the analysis of the AML/CFT obligations, focuses on the economic value of the integrity and the legality, to be considered not only as public goods, but also as "assets of competitiveness and development" for individual companies.

The third work, finally, compares the suspicious transactions reporting obligation and the whistleblowing, that share the common purpose of promoting an early reaction to illicit behaviors.

While addressing distinct topics, the three studies offer a multi-perspective view of the prevention and the legality as specific and integrated values.
